A collaborative work by Kyoto-based theatrical company Calico Nekoza and wood carving artist Yumu Kumada.
A single wooden box just there. A worm is sleeping inside. "They say that clams are big clams. They blow air into the sea and form a castle city." You can't see or touch the inside of the box. But if you think it's there, it's there. I want you to use your imagination and stare intently into the invisible wooden box. A performance that makes you think about the memories of the sea from ancient times and the fantastic mirage.

Meetings and partings are repeated like the ebb and flow of the tide. From the image of the ever-changing ocean, a dance performance stage that spreads out into space appears on the lawn of Suzuzuka. Dancers who gathered at the audition danced in costumes of sea creatures. Under the autumn sky, an unpredictable drama is born.

Oku-Noto has a beautiful landscape where people and nature interweave.
Based on the theme of local features and charms, we collect human voices such as natural sounds, sounds of people's daily lives, events and old stories, express them and perform in the nature of Oku-Noto. It's not a conversational drama like you would see in a theater, but a time of visual arts where you can experience the memories of Oku-Noto. The scene is reminiscent of the moment when memories from the land rise like smoke, and the performers stand like spirits of the land. The various sounds of Oku-Noto mix like the spray of the waves, and you can hear them like onomatopoeia. Sound heals the sense of hearing, and the physical expression associated with it soothes the sense of sight. All local content. Using physical expressions that are not bound by words, the audience will end up with a gentle and gentle time that will make them feel fond of Oku-Noto.

The artist himself will perform a sound installation work "Aeolus Square" using the mechanism of an Aeolian Harp (a musical instrument that uses a mechanism in which the wind blowing outdoors hits the strings and automatically produces sound) centered on an upright piano. One-time concert. The Aeolian harp converts the wind created by the nature of Suzu into reverberations, bringing the history and energy of the land to the surface, and mixing it with the sound of the piano played by the artist.
A workshop will also be held where you can listen to stories about the work and have a session with the artist. (October 21 [Saturday] Anytime between 13:00 and 14:30. No reservation required. Free.)
