子どもたちが巣立って役目を終えた旧粟津保育所に、たくさんのセラミックのカラフルなオブジェ が置かれている。積み木遊びのように、鑑賞者が 自由に配置して構成することができる参加型のイ ンスタレーション。すぐに片付けてしまって、形 として残ることのない子どもの遊びという行為に スポットを当てた作品。作品は作者の手を放れ、 誰かの手によって自由に広がり変化し続け、いず れは消えて無くなってゆく。

All the children have left this daycare center; it has fulfilled its role. Sugitani presents a hands-on installation letting viewers freely arrange colorful ceramic objects, as if playing with building blocks. Sugitani spotlights children’s play itself, an act that is immediately straightened up with no traces left behind. Leaving the hands of its creator and freely unfolding in the hands of someone else, this work shifts form over and over again and eventually disappears.
