漆から喚起される、器、触覚、⽪膚、⾝体、⾎、⽣命、原初などのイメージ を、乾漆技法を⽤いて作品制作を⾏っ てきた作家。制作を通して、作家は⾃ 然や宇宙と⼈間との根源的な繋がり や、⽣命の循環と再⽣について考えを 巡らせてきた。奥能登において漆は、 縄⽂時代の遥か昔から受け継がれてお り、作家は作品を通してこの地に暮ら していた⼈々や場の記憶を呼び覚ま し、鑑賞者に静かに働きかける漆の場 をつくり出す。

Tanaka’s works made with dry-lacquer techniques are created in the image of vessels, tactile sensations, skin, the body, blood, life, and the primordial, as evoked by the lacquer. Through the creation of these works, Tanaka ponders the fundamental connections between nature, the universe, humans, life cycles, and regeneration. He believes that making them in Oku-Noto, where the craft of lacquer has been passed down since the prehistoric Jomon era, is deeply meaningful when considering lacquer culture (i.e., the relationship between lacquer and humanity). Awakening memories of places and people who lived here, he will create a space where lacquer works quietly on the viewer.
